What are you waiting for? Sow the seed

August 20, 2025

Is there something that you have felt that God has led you to begin, and you are waiting for a sign?

Well, this is it – this is your sign!

Okay, it might not be.

But why not? Why can’t you take it as your sign to start?

What is it that you are actually waiting for?

I think many of us don’t start because we want more of the plan revealed to us. We want the blueprint, the map, the GPS directions, the quickest way to the final destination.

We want to know exactly how many right turns we are going to have to take, how many obstacles are going to come our way, how much money we’ll need to spend, how many prayers we’re going to have to pray, and how many people we’re going to be annoyed by.

And only then, we will say, “God willing, I’ll start.”

I think some of us have held on to the belief that good things take time, which is true for sure.

And so we wait for the idea to grow in our minds until it becomes a lovely plant, maybe even into a beautiful flower, before we take it out and plant it.

But we forget one important thing in the process.

Your mind is not the soil.

And you aren’t called to plant saplings.

You are called to sow seeds.

You are called to take that step of faith and start, and let God give you instructions on how to water the seed, give it sunlight, and watch it grow.

This doesn’t mean don’t do the research. It doesn’t mean be careless.

But maybe for you, doing the research itself is your first step. Maybe the preparation is the first seed that you need to actively sow.

You were called to take that step of faith with the revelation you already have.

And it is only once God sees what you do with the revelation He has given you, that He will be willing to give you more.

He doesn’t show complete maps.

He holds your hand and guides you step by step.

So what are you waiting for?

Sow the seed.

And if you are still in doubt, then maybe this post is the sign you were waiting for after all.

He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
- Matthew 17:20
