Throughout the last year, 2024, I was praying to God about something specific, and I wasn’t getting an answer. At the beginning of 2025, I got a no for something, and I realized that I had to keep waiting.
I felt so hurt by that. I felt like, “I don’t think God cares. I don’t think He hears my prayer. I feel like when He hears me, He turns His face away from me.”
I just couldn’t pray. I couldn’t read the Bible.
A few weeks into the year, my church started this time of prayer where people would come together and seek the Lord. And I was in a rebel mode. I thought, “Why should I pray? Because I’ve been praying, and I don’t think God hears my prayer.”
So I just was in this rebel mode and I didn’t go. And then eventually, I did one of the days.
When I went there, I was standing at the back of the hall, and I felt so disconnected from this group of people who felt so close to God. But I didn’t feel anything. I just stood there. I closed my eyes. I didn’t feel anything for a long time.
And I suddenly heard this voice that said, “Well, you can’t pray for yourself, but you can pray for someone else.”
And I felt like, “Yeah, I guess I could pray for someone else.”
Immediately, this person’s name came into my heart. So I walked up to her. I still didn’t feel anything. I didn’t get a prompting on what to pray for her. I went and stood next to her. I placed my hand on her, and as soon as I opened my mouth, I started praying for her womb.
I prayed over her womb. I prayed over her motherhood. I prayed over her being able to raise the next generation for the kingdom of God.
And once I was done praying, she had tears in her eyes. She hugged me, and I went back to my place. I felt so weird because this person was single, and I was like, “What did I just pray for? Did I just make that up, or was it actually from God?”
Months later, I met her, and she stopped me and said, “Hannah, I have to tell you something, and I have to tell it to you.”
So I was like, “Okay, sure. Go on.”
She said, “Remember that day when you prayed over my womb?”
And I said, “Yes, I do.”
She said, “Sometime back, I got a diagnosis that there’s a cyst in my uterus, and there’s a possibility that I couldn’t get pregnant.”
Obviously, that shattered her—the idea that she couldn’t be a mother one day.
From the day I prayed over her, she had two other people come to her and pray over her womb. And she felt like God was healing her.
So she went and checked with the doctor, and the report put a big question mark against that diagnosis that they had given earlier. And they said, “We don’t think you have this.”
And when I heard that, it was loud and clear that God heard my prayer.
It became an affirmation that even when I can’t pray for me, I could still pray for someone else.
And sometimes, when God says no, when God says wait, it’s hard to speak to Him about yourself.
But there’s still faith in you, and you can use it for somebody else.
Every time we feel like, “I don’t think God cares. I don’t think what I’m going through matters to God,” I feel like we can still muster up the little faith that’s left in us to go and pray for somebody else.
And while we wait for Him to release a miracle in our life, we can watch Him hear our prayer and release a miracle in somebody else’s life—and just be reassured that He still hears you.
He still loves you, and He still cares.
