Out of the many messages that were spoken this season, one of the verses that really hit was Luke 1:37 – “Nothing is impossible with God”
Let me say it again – “NOTHING is impossible with God.”
Now I know you’re going to look at that and go, “Alright man, I’ve heard this one before. I even have it written as a quote on a t-shirt.”
But stay with me on this, as I say it again – “NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE with God”
You see what the text says? It tells you God can do all things (duh), but here’s another way of looking at it – with God, ‘nothing’, ‘zero’, or ‘no result’ is not possible.
Let that sink in. Let it truly hit you in the heart that when you pray, when you cry out to Him, He always hears and He always, always answers.
But you say, “I get what you’re saying, but that’s not true. God has not always answered my prayer.”
Yes, He has.
The answer just might have been different from what you had probably imagined
The answer might have been no or not yet.
‘No answer’ is impossible with God.
You say, “it doesn’t really help me if the answer is ‘no’ now, does it?”
Of course it does!
As CS Lewis put it, “God is too good to be unkind. He is too wise to be confused. If I cannot trace His hand, I can always trust His heart.”
Even when the answer is NO, we can rest in the assurance that He is always working constantly for His glory and our joy. The answers are on their way.
I wonder how differently our lives would look if we were grateful, faithful and even pleased with what God gives us, whether that may be a no or not yet – even if it doesn’t look like anything we might have imagined or hoped. What sort of blessings could come from our heart taking a position of gratitude and faithfulness.
So hold on a little longer. Look at those gifts in your life a little differently. Hope is coming.
I pray today that your heart will be opened to see and rest in the truth that there is always, always an answer to your prayers, even when it may not seem like it; even when the answer seems exactly the opposite of what you want – an answer that leads to His glory and to your joy.
Remember today, that when you pray, nothing or no answer is impossible with God.
