Looking out the window
The intimidating looming shadows
point fingers her way
Afraid, she pulls away
Hiding from the reprimanding figures
The darkness is a constant reminder of her fall
Lost, lonely and insecure
Longing for a gentle touch
Too far from love, too far from the light
She mourns her disdainful plight
Cries go unheard
Screams for help remain muted
Tears go unnoticed
As the darkness consumes her soul
The morning light strikes sharply
Giving hope momentarily
But darkness steals all traces of it
And once more she revels in the darkness
From the window now
She sees hands stretched towards her
In the light, it becomes clear
The pointing fingers gently wiping her tears
She looks up and sees
What looked like reprimanding figures
Are actually angels that dance all around her
The pointing fingers transformed into outstretched arms
God and His army wait patiently
For her to join in their wondrous glory!
But the comfortable darkness beckons her
What will she choose?
